Guest Access Express Set up

In these next few steps I will show you how to set up a guest access SSID for your Aerohive AP.

  • Log into your HiveManager

  • Go to Configuration
  • Open Navigation panel

          

  • Select SSID's

  • Click on New

Now we can begin to configure a SSID for our guests. Fill in the following:

  1. Profile Name
  2. SSID
  3. Select the frequency (2,4GHz/5GHz)
  4. Choose your security level (WPA/WPA2)
  5. Create a "pre shared key" / password
  6. Enable Captive Web Portal
  7. * Create a Web Portal if you don't want to use the standard Aerohive portal

* how to create a new custom Web Portal

  • Click on the symbol
  • Give the Web Portal config a Name
  • Select: Use Policy Acceptance (multiple features available)
  • **You can customize the Wep Portal login page appearance with your own background and logo, select Customize Login Page (Verry cool!)
  • **You can also set a Success Page and customize this when a guest has a succesfull login (after providing the right password)
  • Click on Save

** Customize Web Portal appearance

  • Click on Save

 

Now you have set up an guest SSID with a custom Web Portal. Don't forget to upload the new configuration to your AP's!
